Faith Anchored In History

Welcome to Christ Church Cathedral, where our historic roots and enduring faith warmly invite you to be part of our cherished community and spiritual journey.

The Cathedral

About Us

Christ Church Cathedral has been a pillar of faith in The Bahamas since its first church was built on this site in 1695. Despite challenges, including destruction by fire in 1703, the Cathedral has continuously served the community, with its clergy dating back to the Rev. Thomas Curphy in 1721. Over the centuries, it has grown in stature, becoming a Cathedral in 1861 and standing at the heart of Nassau’s religious and civic life.

With a rich history marked by beautiful stained glass windows, one of the region’s finest organs, and a distinctive tower clock, Christ Church Cathedral remains a place where faith and history intertwine. Today, the Cathedral continues to welcome all, offering spiritual services and community outreach as it upholds its heritage as a beacon of Anglican faith.
